These classroom activities in the arts, STEM, writing, and literature are ideas I came up with as part of Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month to supplement the wonderful teaching guide made by Carla España and Luz Yadira Herrera for Latinitas, but of course they can be used all year round. I wanted to share some of the little pieces of these women’s lives that didn’t make it into my book as well as ways for students to relate to their life and work.
